Capacity Planning

Growth and change within an organisation requires restructuring of IT systems. Capacity Management looks at the existing technology, and using current convergence techniques such as server consolidation and virtualisation, seeks to simplify and unify disparate systems. This service reduces server downtime by identifying and reutilising underused servers, thereby improving server performance and availability. Consolidation leads to simple management, economies of scale and the ability to improve the accuracy of your IT budget.

The day-to-day activities of maintenance, troubleshooting and installation can often be time consuming, leaving little time for planning and forecasting activities. Capacity Planning requires system, network and database administrators, and where possible end users, to develop a formal system of measuring and analysing the pressures being put on the system.
